When I left Lucknow on April 12 after a fulfilling journey that lasted 2 years, didnt realise that it would take 6 long years to come back in 2018 to the City of smiles. The City has changed and you notice it from the window of your aircraft watching the shining steel structure of the new airport, with the Grand old terminal replicating the Char Bagh Railway station, now a privilege of International travellers. But now you really don't feel like landed in City of Nawabs where the first hoarding you used to read as "Smile - You are in Lucknow", instead the multinational brands have taken that space 😔
But the Taj hotel hasn’t changed , its plush green gardens well maintained as always take away NES heart. And off course thr mehmanawazi of the hotel team is unparalleled. I left early morning next day for the iconic botanical garden also known as Sikander baug mesmerises each soul. The peacocks add to the nature’s beauty and make u feel like heaven. There are several morning walkers groups and now a couple of yoga enthusiasts too, one can really get charged for the day.
My visit wasn’t complete without the sumptuous street food of Lucknow the GOL Gapaas ,kachodis and dal moths.
Loaded with the freshly packed tunde kebabs I returned in the evening with fond memories of the short visit ,with a promise to come back soon and a longer stay.
